TownePlace Suites Baltimore BWI Airport is a short distance from all the fun things to do in Baltimore Maryland. Baltimore is distinguished by the fact that it’s the largest independent city in the United States, with a long and robust history as a seaport and cultural capital and home to the prestigious John Hopkins University and hospital.
Our hotel is just 8 miles from the center of Baltimore and all the unique things in the Chesapeake. As we are located between the airport and city, we also offer convenient access to things outside the city, including Medieval Times. Step back in time for a night of knights, jousting, and delicious medieval food!
We also offer convenient access to Annapolis, just in time for the sailboat show!
While Baltimore has long been an important seaport, the inner harbor’s water was too shallow for heavy use. In the 1950s, the city began revitalizing the Inner Harbor as Baltimore tourism hub by building a number of beautiful plazas and park. Today, the inner harbor has something new and exciting going on every day. It is also home to the National Aquarium, one of the biggest attractions in Maryland.
There are lots of ways to learn new things to do in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The Maryland Science Center has exhibits as well as a planetarium and observatory. Visit the Star Spangled Banner House to step back in time and experience American history, and then take a water taxi to Fort McHenry National Monument, the sight of the battle that inspired the song.
Camden Yards is the home of the Baltimore Orioles, and if it’s the right time of year for a game, the retro-style field is worth a visit. On your way to see the Birds (as they’re called in Baltimore), make sure to admire the park’s sculpture garden. Take your photo with some famous Orioles players!
There’s even more to see and do in the harbor, but you’ll need somewhere to drink and dine—Power Plant Live! is a sprawling entertainment complex with dinner, drinks, and live music.
